Dance for Diabetes & Let’s Talk Diabetes Press Conference

Good morning, colleagues and partners, members of the press.

We are days away from our 4th Dance for Diabetes event, a day that is about movement, awareness, and community. At BAF Global, health and wellness are not just corporate talking points. They are part of our identity, and they have been embedded in our mission for over a century.

As many of us know, diabetes continues to affect families across The Bahamas. It touches our coworkers, our relatives, our neighbors, and sometimes even ourselves. For me, this is personal. My mother is living with diabetes, and I have seen the day-to-day realities that come with managing this disease. So, when we talk about awareness, we are not speaking in theory. We are speaking about the lives of people we love.

Today is not a day for fear or discouragement. Today is about empowerment. It is about reminding our communities that small steps, small changes, and even small movement can make a meaningful difference.

This is why BAF Global is proud to host this initiative with our community partners, the Public Hospitals Authority, and the Bahamas Diabetes Association, who will receive 100% of the proceeds. Collaboration is how we

shift outcomes. Partnership is how we save lives. When we come together, we do more than raise awareness.Dance for Diabetes is more than an event. It is a reminder that wellness can be joyful. That taking control of our health can be encouraging, uplifting, and shared. So we are inviting everyone: families, friend groups, schools, and corporate teams to come out and dance with us.

We can also support and learn through conversations. On Wednesday, November 26 at 6:30 PM, BAF Global will host a free webinar titled Let’s Talk Diabetes. Our panel of health advocates and wellness professionals will share practical guidance for managing and preventing diabetes. Whether you are newly diagnosed, supporting a loved one, like myself, or simply aiming to live a healthier lifestyle. We encourage you to join the conversation.

Thank you, and we look forward to seeing you all there, ready to move, ready to support, and ready to Dance for Diabetes.
