Khashan got her start at the Nassau Guardian. The youngest female reporter to have been hired, Khashan wrote for the sports and then later promoted to write for news, business, crime and lifestyles sections.
After four years, she moved to Dallas, Texas. While pursuing a Bachelors degree in Mass Communications, Khashan interned at local radio and television stations. By her junior year, she interned at the Dallas Weekly newspaper and later became a contributing writer. While in Texas, Khashan also wrote for Denton Live, ON Magazine and political blog, Hungry for Justice.
Khashan has worked in marketing for about eight years, including the past five years for Sandals and Beaches Resorts, and Commonwealth Brewery Ltd. (Burns House), a subsidiary of Heineken International.
For both companies, she has written copy for digital marketing, radio and TV ads. For Sandals and Beaches Resorts, she has written and edited blog posts and articles for the in-room magazine, Sandals Style.
Today, she writes copy for various companies and personal brands, under the umbrella of Poitier Marketing & Public Relations Group. She specializes in writing webcopy, copy for brochures, article, blog, press release and speech writing in an array of niches, particularly, food, art and culture, tech, environment, politics and sports.
